My background includes more than fifteen years of combined tutoring and teaching experience, the last ten years as a full-time tutor in DC and Montgomery County.  I’m familiar with the DCPS and MCPS curriculums, and with private school curriculums throughout the area.

Education:

  • Master’s (MFA) in literature and creative writing from Colorado State University
  • Bachelor of Arts in English from Vassar College
  • Graduate of Maret School (Washington, DC) and Green Acres School (Rockville, MD)

Experience:

  • Extensive experience tutoring AD/HD, LD, and G/T students
  • Taught at Landmark School (MA) for high-potential, learning-disabled students, Colorado State University, Trinity College (DC), and The Writer’s Center (Bethesda, MD)
  • Highly experienced SAT, PSAT, ACT, and SSAT tutor
  • Four years of newspaper reporting experience

Publications, Awards & Honors:

  • Published short fiction and poetry in literary journals
  • Novel was finalist in competitions at Ariadne Press (MD) and The Heekin Foundation (OR)
